This Polish Officer was recruited by Ben Franklin in Paris, named Head Engineer of the Continental Army, and in recognition of his exceptional service was later promoted to Brig. General, and then became an American citizen.

He is buried in Wawel Cathedral, Krakow Poland. We saw his burial crypt in the honored burial chamber of the Cathedral. He is considered a national hero in Poland.
